My Background
About
My journey with yoga began more than 15 years ago, when I discovered its healing power for my body and mind. Due to our crazy modern lifestyle and different stressors, I went through a period of bad health. I realised that there was one space that I kept returning to in order to find relief from it all - the yoga mat. The soothing
effect that the practice had on my body was amazing. Yet, the calming effect it had on my mind was even greater. I was becoming more aware of my body, all the areas where tension was stored and especially my breathing patterns (or lack thereof)! I loved the rediscovered feeling of how everything within us is interconnected, all the layers, and not just the physical body!
Experiencing something that has had such a profound and transformative effect on your life is a great motivation to want to share it with other people. With the encouragement of my then teacher, I enrolled onto the teacher training, and the rest is history as they say!
I gained my qualification with the Traditional Yoga Association™ under Swami Ambikananda’s guidance. I feel honoured and privileged to be part of this lineage and tradition. I’m a member of the TYA™, fully insured and First Aid trained.
Although passing my teacher’s exam was one of the best moments in my life, I feel I am a forever student - continuing to attend workshops, training and CPDS with uninterrupted enthusiasm!
My Approach
Yoga is so much more than just a physical practice . It is a way of connecting with
ourselves and others. I love the sense of belonging that yoga has given me and I aim
to recreate that sense for the students who come to my classes.
You can expect a welcoming environment where the focus is on helping you work
with your own body. I truly believe that every body is a yoga body regardless of how
it may be portrayed in the media nowadays. The classes are designed in such a way
to provide you with a safe practice to suit individual needs in a 1:1 or a group setting,
offering postures and flows with modifications and variations as well as challenges to suit your energy level and needs, guided relaxation and/or meditation and breathwork.
As a result, I hope that you will step off the mat feeling lighter, with a bounce in your
step, good energy and overall feeling of relaxation and wellness. I also hope that you
will grow an awareness that yoga doesn’t stop when we step off the mat. You will be
encouraged to learn more about yoga’s history and philosophy and embrace this
multifaceted practice in its entirety. Yoga is a vast and rich field of knowledge and
wisdom that can enrich every aspect of our lives.
Site Dedication
I would like to dedicate this website to my dearest friend, Sanya Ozic, who has passed on but wished for us to be joyful and hopeful as her motto was ‘Always look on the bright side of life’. Sanya was a wonderful human being and a true yogi in every sense of the word. She embraced yoga as a way of life, not only practicing asana, pranayama, and meditation, but also applying its teachings and philosophy off the mat. She was so much to so many people... A mum to three amazing young women. A talented musician and teacher, who never stopped learning new skills and sharing them with others. A great lover of nature and animals, who cared for the environment and all living beings. A devoted friend and an inspiration to everyone who was lucky enough to meet her.
